crytle asked:
My husband and I are in the process of buying our first home. A realtor recommended a loan agency to us to get our pre-qualification letter. I can’t find any information on the internet about this company. She wants to meet with us tomorrow night (in her home I might add). I’m extremely leary just handing over all of my personal information to just anyone. My parents told me I need to just get my loan through a bank since chances are, they’ll buy the loan anyway, but my husband says that this woman will work just fine for us. (I think he is being a little naive about this though). How do you know if you’re working with a reputable lender or if I should get away before it’s too late? DOes it seem weird that she wants to meet with us in her home as opposed to an office? Is there anything I should keep an eye on or pertinent questions I should ask her during our meeting?
Please help!!

DotCom asked: My grandfather had his home paid off and was “talked” into getting money out of his home in a re-fi. He did this about 2 years ago and got more money out like a year ago. He was given an option payment with an adjustable rate. No one else in the family (his children) were not asked or notified about this. My question is does he have a case. He will be losing his house probably in 6 – 8 months. He is an 85 year old man and he lives on Social Security less than $2000 a month. Any help and/or information to get help would be great.
Any lawyers out there will to help out email me joe@southbayideas.com
Thanks

Lending Tree is one example. Which sites have you gone to in order to be contacted by a mortgage company?
I am not looking for a loan. That was not my question. I am getting an idea of what the most popular mortgage search sites are.

Along with the constant pressure to sign papers as fast as we can, It also includes hiding valuable information such as:notifying the day of the signing that the extra 10k for the new housing was depleted.
constantly having small mistakes in the contract, etc.?
Basically, we wanna know who to contact about this horrible service that we got with them?… I dont know if it will help to complain to them now, since we dont wanna get screwed some more? and we already signed the paperwork.

The resident is empty, and I have contacted the county tax office for the tax information, but I can’t find the person that use to live there. I have asked neighbors and they directed me to the county tax place.

Grumpy asked:
My husband and I made an offer on a foreclosure property. After submitting our offer the realtor told us we had been out-bid by a small amount. He discouraged us from continuing to bid. 6 months later we have come to find out that the realtor/ listing agency bought the property. This is the same exact realtor that submitted our offer and advised us to give up. They used our bid to make their look good. They are also the agency that initially set the price on the home. Is this legal? Would it be worthwhile to contact the owner of the home (a lending agency)?

rsbrsb asked: I was informed today after nearly 5 weeks that the lender has additional questions of the buyer (updated bank statements and such). The transaction was to close a week ago and has gone 7 days without resolution. I received this information this evening (30 minutes prior to the updated close today).
Is the buyer’s agent, title company and lender liable when a pre-approval letter was received after the contract was signed? I feel as though these folks have potentially dropped the ball and not kept the seller informed.
Thanks in advance for any advice you have.

A friend wanted to refinance mortgage. His daughter found a lender named John Swaggart. The company name is Great Opening Lending. If someone has heard of him let me know. He has all information (personal) on my friend and family and will return calls. He is worried this might be a scam.
